Zak Ranger
An East London native with an air of cool detachment and sardonic charm, and a writer with the kind of killer punchlines that look easy until you try to write one. His conversational style is endearing and, crucially, hilarious: the kind of stand-up that sounds like someone talking to you directly, and just happens to be very precisely constructed underneath the surface.
Alongside his performing career, he is a co-founder of Jackal Comedy Club in North London, a regular night that has hosted shows at venues including The Old Queens Head in Islington and The Boleyn Tavern in East Ham. He MCs as well as performs, which means he has spent a significant amount of time making other people's acts work as well as his own. Both skills show up in his stand-up. He is an active presence on the London circuit and has appeared on bills alongside established acts including Dane Baptiste.
He has a magnetic presence on stage that reads as effortless even when the material is doing a lot of work.
