American comedian Bobby Lee in a red beanie and yellow glasses, a figure in London's stand up comedy scene

Bobby Lee is an American actor and writer, widely recognized for his work in both television and film. Born in San Diego, California, he began his comedy career after his job at a coffee shop closed unexpectedly, leading him to an amateur night at The Comedy Store next door. His parents, who had hoped he would continue with the family business, were initially unsupportive of his comedic pursuits, a theme he has explored in his work. Within a year, he was a regular performer at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles and began opening for major comedians.

Lee's career took off with his long-running role as a cast member on MADtv from 2001 to 2009. His brother has even appeared in several non-speaking roles on the show, and in 2007, he pitched a sitcom to Comedy Central about his family. He also co-starred in the sitcom Splitting Up Together and has appeared in films such as Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, Pineapple Express, and The Dictator. More recently, he had a guest role as Dr. Kang on the TV comedy series Reservation Dogs, and a recurring character in the Magnum P.I. television series.

Beyond his on-screen work, Lee is a well-known podcast host. He co-hosts the podcast Bad Friends with fellow comedian Andrew Santino, and you can also find his content on TigerBelly. He also rebooted Maker Studios' YouTube comedy channel, and hosted the 9th MusiCares MAP Fund Benefit Concert. A long-time fan of Arsenal Football Club, Lee also enjoys a variety of video games, including FIFA, Stardew Valley, and The Witcher series. His younger brother, Steve, is also a musician, podcaster, and comedian.

Lee's unique and unpredictable approach to comedy, which he first honed in a San Diego comedy club, makes him the kind of rare talent that audiences in London seek out for a truly memorable comedy night.
