Award-winning comedian Tom Ward, as seen on Live at the Apollo and QI, photographed laughing in a cream blazer, against a weathered stone wall with natural light catching his open smile.

If you have watched Live at the Apollo on BBC2, sat through a panel of QI, or caught a Roast Battle on Comedy Central, you may already have encountered Tom Ward without quite knowing his name. He is the kind of comedian who lands immediately and sticks: a London-based stand-up with a fluid, conversational style, a gift for impressions, and the ability to take a room somewhere unexpected without losing a single person on the way. The material is sharp and observational, the delivery deceptively easy, and the gags consistently better than they appear to be setting themselves up for.

Tom won the Chortle Best Newcomer Award in 2017, having already announced himself with a string of competition finals: finalist in the BBC Radio New Comedy Award 2014, the NATY (New Acts of the Year) Final 2014, and the Leicester Square New Comedian 2013. His Edinburgh Fringe record since then has been one of the more impressive on the UK circuit, with solo shows including Popcorn Lung (2018), Anthem (2022), Choose Your Delusion (2024), and his current 2026 offering Post-Millennium Tension. He has toured the UK extensively on his own headline shows and supported Jack Whitehall, Ricky Gervais, Joe Lycett, Sindhu Vee and Jason Manford on the road.

His television work covers a substantial spread: Live at the Apollo (BBC2), QI (BBC), Live from The BBC (BBC), Roast Battle (Comedy Central), Stand Up Central (Comedy Central), Live from The Comedy Store (Comedy Central), and twice on The Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV2). He has also fronted Funraisers for Channel 4 digital, a show pitched as "a charity shop Taskmaster," as well as the LAD Bible series In My Personal Space and No Instructions. Press coverage includes four-star notices from Metro ("hits the millennial sweet spot") and five stars from The Herald ("a genuinely exciting talent"). Time Out called him "a star in the making." Chortle noted that he "always keeps you guessing," which is about as accurate a description of his stage presence as six words can provide.

He is represented by Ebdon Management.
