Sustainability by day, stand-up by night. Sobin ST is one of the London comedy circuit's more distinctive new voices: a professional Sustainability Analyst with an analytical mind, a habit of overthinking everything, and a wardrobe that consistently puts everyone else on the bill to shame. His sets blend sharp observational comedy with gleefully performed self-deprecation, navigating between self-aware goofball and barely disguised show-off with a precision that keeps audiences perpetually off balance. The suit is always immaculate. The jokes, reliably, are not quite as polished as he would have you believe.

His material draws on the particular contradictions of modern professional life: a man who spends his working hours doing climate impact assessments and his evenings doing riffs about yoga classes, middle-class social dynamics, and the eternal indignity of being slightly overdressed in a room full of people who did not try nearly as hard. The observational writing is precise and recognisable without tipping into cynicism, and the self-deprecation never loses the underlying confidence that gives the best self-deprecating comedy its teeth. Making people laugh has come naturally to Sobin since school, where the class clown role provided both genuine joy and a reliable route to the centre of the room. Comedy was, by his own account, the obvious next step. The suit was simply non-negotiable.

On the London stand-up scene, Sobin has been building a consistent circuit presence at G&B Comedy, one of the capital's longest-running open-mic nights, performing at venues including the Star of Kings. He has also featured in the Ultra Comedy showcase and taken his set to the Soho Theatre. Kyle Wallace, MC and promoter of G&B Comedy, has called him "the smartest dressed man in the comedy world, the sartorially stupendous Sobin ST," which may be the most useful endorsement a comedian has ever received from a booking contact. Fellow comedian and TV performer Carly Smallman (BBC, ITV) has noted that his "nerdy goofy overthinking persona on stage is likeable and funny."
