Kevin Nealon

American comedian Kevin Nealon in a blue, patterned shirt, a familiar face in the London stand-up comedy scene.

Kevin Nealon is a highly accomplished American comedian and actor, with a career spanning decades that has earned him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination and two Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. He began his journey in comedy during his college years, eventually moving to Los Angeles where he honed his craft at The Improv while working as a bartender. After performing stand-up for six years, he made his television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson in 1984, later becoming a regular on both that show and Late Night with David Letterman.

His career took a major turn when his friend and fellow comedian Dana Carvey recommended him for Saturday Night Live, which he joined in 1986. Nealon became a full-time cast member in the 1987-1988 season and went on to become one of the show's longest-tenured performers at the time, with a nine-season run. He became a household name for his memorable characters like Mr. Subliminal and Franz, and he anchored the show’s news parody segment, Weekend Update, from 1991 to 1994.

After leaving SNL, Nealon transitioned to a prolific film and television career. He has appeared in several of Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison films, including Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer, and Little Nicky. On television, he played the popular character Doug Wilson on the Showtime series Weeds from 2005 to 2012 and provided the voice for the title character on the animated series Glenn Martin, DDS. His recent work includes a recurring role on the sitcom Man with a Plan and a unique, self-produced YouTube talk show called Hiking with Kevin, where he records conversations with various celebrity guests while hiking. Nealon’s diverse and enduring career is a testament to the kind of innovative and engaging comedy that audiences across London come to see.
